Baseballs are cool, wrist cuffs are cool, imagine what you could get if you put them together. Well, Lisa Kettell of Maplewood, NJ has done just that. She created a business that designs Baseball cuffs or B-cuffs as she calls them, in many shapes and sizes. The cuffs are created from leather baseballs, rhinestones, felt, clasps, sewing notions, etc. All cuffs fit standard wrist size, if your wrist is larger, the cuff can be adjusted to fit.
This isn’t the first year for these cuffs, as Lisa tells, “I have been making these cuffs for years for customers, friends and family. All Baseball cuffs are original to my idea, creation and design; no two are alike and a cuff can signify your love for the game.”
The cuffs have been featured in Bead Unique Magazine, several print magazines, blogs and a book due out this year. Most of the baseballs used are vintage. These cuffs are perfect for any sports team or just if you want one for yourself. Bracelets sell at $40.00. Lisa’s company is called Piddlestixs. Not only does she make and sell baseball cuffs, but party accessories, vintage dolls and much more.
Her creative efforts started when an ancestor visited her in a dream. “Few nights ago, an ancestor named Lionel Kettell visited me in my dream, thus embarking me on a journey from the past, present and future, sparking my interest to further investigate the Kettell name with my direct ancestors,” reminisced Kettell.
She is also a children’s author. She has created and illustrated a children’s book entitled, “Star and the Milky Way Cafe”. Lisa also offers workshops for making just about anything, from steampunk to handmade jewelry. Piddlestixs is located in Layfette, NJ.
She describes her talent for creating, “I love taking ordinary items and objects and turning them into fun and whimsical pieces of art, for all to enjoy.”
She also has a blog that further demonstrates her work and talent. You can learn how to make scrapbooks, party favors, dolls, decorations, jewelry, party toppers and much more. Whew! With all that she has going on, what can’t she do! This girl does it all!
